What is Bamboo?

Bamboo is an investment platform that helps you access smarter investment options and earn returns. We make investing simple, accessible and affordable.

With Bamboo, you can invest in:

1. The U.S. stock market: Buy shares and become a part-owner of global companies such as Apple, Microsoft and many more.

2. Bamboo Fixed Returns: A fixed-income dollar-denominated investment that gives you up to 8% annual returns. This product is available in Nigeria only at this time.

What is the Stock Market?

The stock market is where companies go to sell parts of their total value to the general public.

By joining Bamboo, we give you the ability to purchase a part of these companies and become a part-owner!

We help our customers bypass the whole stress of dealing with brokers directly as we are the link between you - the investor, and the broker.

We simplify and make the process more efficient for all parties involved.

We currently have over 3,000 stocks available.

What is a Fixed Returns investment?

Bamboo offers a fixed-income dollar-denominated investment that gives you up to 8% USD annual returns. It takes the risk out of investing while exposing you to all the benefits of being invested, including higher yields than regular dollar savings accounts.

With Bamboo Fixed Returns you can deposit and lock your money for anywhere between 90 days to a year. You can also create as many fixed-return investments as you want.

This product is available in Nigeria only at this time.

How much do I need to start investing?

The minimum investment amount for Nigeria is $2 and $10 for Ghana.

Bamboo allows you to buy shares in fractions so even if you don't want to buy 1 whole share, you can buy less. You can buy any stock with any amount you wish to, regardless of the share price.

However, you will need to have money in your Bamboo wallet with which you can start investing in Fixed Returns or stocks. The minimum amount you can deposit in your wallet is $1 for Nigeria and $10 for Ghana.

How do I make profit from investing on Bamboo?

There are three primary ways to earn money from investing on Bamboo:

  1. Capital Appreciation

When you buy shares and you sell the shares at a higher price than when you bought them. This is known as capital appreciation. For example, if you buy shares at $209, and the share price goes up to $250 and you sell the shares, you have made $41. Making profit is dependent on the rise and fall of share prices on the stock market.

  2. Dividends

When a company whose shares you have bought, distributes dividends (a company may distribute profits to its shareholders by declaring partial or full dividends). Companies pay dividends from the profit they make within a period, or when they sell an asset. Not all companies pay dividends.

  3. Fixed Returns (NIGERIA ONLY)

You can invest in Bamboo Fixed Returns -- a fixed-income dollar-denominated investment that gives you up to 8% USD annual returns. With Bamboo Fixed Returns, you can deposit and lock your money for anywhere between 90 days to a year and earn up to 8% returns without lifting a finger. Find out more about Fixed Returns here
